GvP school

Finalizing Adulting 101 sessions, hosted by WeConnect, Euxtopia and the GvP School

The GvP’s fourth and fifth form students have been taking part in a series of interactive, skill building and developmental workshops aimed at preparing them for life after high school. The final two workshops, held on March 4th and April 3rd, 2024 respectively, saw the students interacting virtually with GvP School alumni in the form of the college/dorm tour. Guests included former Vocational and Academic students currently pursuing careers and academic studies in Bonaire, Mexico, Jamaica and the USA. The current form 4 and 5 GvP students grasped the opportunity to learn and ask questions about what it takes mentally, emotionally, financially and academically to transition into these areas for study.

The final workshop was a continuation of the mental, cognitive and emotional building efforts that Euxtopia, WeConnect NL and the GvP School have been collectively working on to ensure our students are adequately prepared for life studying abroad. In the workshop entitled Resilience: Overcoming the Gaps, students were required to assess their life habits and focus on areas that they need to improve on. The aim of the session was to equip them with tools and skills that will empower them to engage in healthy, developmental, career and life building actions and ensure they are able to overcome the “Gaps” and challenges life will throw at them when they transition to studying abroad.
