GvP School Introduces Confidential Advisor in Staff Information Session

The GvP School recently hosted an informative session introducing the Confidential Advisor to staff members. This initiative underscores the school’s proactive approach to addressing potential issues that could affect its operational integrity.

The role of the Confidential Advisor is pivotal in providing dedicated support to staff members who experience unwanted behavior or face issues related to professional integrity. Acting independently, the Advisor serves as a confidential point of contact, offering one-on-one consultations and guiding employees through available solutions. This includes facilitating access to internal complaint procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as connecting employees with external support services as needed.

“This introduction marks a significant step forward for GvP School, ” said Mr. Jair Hooker, board member. “Having a Confidential Advisor on board early positions us ahead of forthcoming regulations mandated by the OCW, ensuring we meet and exceed compliance standards.”

The initial meeting, held exclusively for staff members, allowed them to familiarize themselves with the Advisor’s role and seek clarification on related matters. Importantly, this session was conducted independently of school board or management presence, reinforcing the confidentiality and impartiality of the Advisor’s role.

In line with GvP’s commitment to a safe and supportive environment, the Confidential Advisor will also play a role in identifying organizational trends and concerns to inform policy enhancements, while respecting the anonymity and privacy of all involved.

As outlined in the GvP School Safety Plan, the Advisor offers private, one-on-one support sessions and helps employees explore solutions and understand their options, ranging from internal complaint procedures to external legal or psychological support, while maintaining full confidentiality and acting only with the employee’s consent.
